Hi im Angie, and like most people, I've lived through moments in life where deodorant really matters.

Hormonal teenage years. Busy days raising kids. Long hours in the corporate world wearing synthetic shirts (before i knew any better) under constant pressure. Early morning gym sessions, weekend bike rides, camping trips, music festivals and endless Australian summers where the heat doesn't give you a second chance.

Then, over twenty years ago, I forgot to pack my deoderant while staying at my in-law's house.

My mother in law handed me a strange-looking crystal, and told me to wash it with soap when i was done.

It wasn't fancy. It wasn't packaged beautifully. It wasn't even convenient to use. It was simply a solid crystal she'd been using for almost ten years.

I remember thinking there was no way it could work.

It did.

In fact, it worked better than anything I'd ever used. I didn't even realise there was a problem with the deoderants i was using at the time.

For the next two decades, it became my little secret. Not because i wanted it to be... but because it was weird to bring up!

The traditional soap-shaped crystals were awkward to hold and had nowhere hygienic to dry. The plastic versions solved one problem but created another. You couldnt get to the bottom, and the crystal would alwyas loosen, fall out, smash onto the bathroom floor, and leave you buying another plastic case. They looked cheap, felt disposable, and completely missed what I believed such an incredible product deserved.

And if I'm honest... I like beautiful things.

I also care deeply about the waste we create.

So I couldn't understand why something designed to be natural and long-lasting was still wrapped in disposable plastic.

That's when Salt Theory was born.
